This entertaining story keeps children guessing what will happen next. This is a story about a pig who knocks on the door of the fox’s house thinking its the rabbit’s house. The fox wants to eat the pig but the pig asks the fox to wash him first, feed him, and give him a message. All of those things will make the pig taste better. After the fox has done all of those things he falls over because is so tired and the pig gets away. I use this story to help children make predictions and draw conclusions about the pig. ( )

Inside this adorable book focused on a sly fox who believes that dinner showed up on his door step on evening when a plump little pig shows up. Then the plot thickens as this sweet plump pig offers up a spa treatment and dinner? This book allows for the reader to jump along as the fox truly thinks he is going to eat the little pig when all along it was the pig who was fooling him. ( )

Mr. Fox gets a surprise visitor one day that turns out to be the perfect company for him. The piglet knocks on Mr. Fox's door by accident looking for his friend Rabbit. The Piglet is cunning and continues to stall the Fox. Mr. Fox is in for a more difficult time preparing the piglet for dinner than he anticipated.

This is a great book to use in the classroom for several reasons and in several grade levels. This is a good book to use for teaching predictions, character traits, and learning how to recognize problem solving skills. You can use prediction by asking students before you read the book to guess what they think will happen in the book just by looking at the cover. They can use character traits by identifying key words to describe both characters. The best activity to use for this book is problem solving. As you read the book, you will pause and identify a problem and then how the piglet manages to get out of trouble. It is a great book to use in the classroom from grades kindergarten through 4th or 5th. ( )
