This books is very thorough and looks at myths throughout history and covers all areas of the world, from the expected Greek and Roman myths to those of Australia and Polynesia. The images are beautiful and the author has done a great job of breaking down the myth itself, the imagery associated with it, and discussing the details found in the myth and depictions of it such as in paintings or pottery. The book would be good for all ages and as a teacher I would definitely use this in my classroom as a resource. ( )

This beautifully illustrated collection of myths and legends is a great book for your library.
If you happen to be a Pagan it is a must. And if you are in a Coven it would be great for your story teller.
He even brings the Christian faith into it as a Myth comparing a lot of biblical text to Myths in many other cultures covering the same thing many years prior to the bible. It is a great book! You really need to check it out and it is on sale at Barnes and Noble :) ( )

Everyone has heard of a myth or legend, and wondered what is the real story behind it. This book is the most amazing look at various myths. There were even some I hadn't heard of, so that aspect, for me, is exactly what I want in a book.
I love the layout of the book, complete with beautiful illustrations and photographs of relics.
A must have for any mythology lover, or even if you are just keen. ( )

It is in the nature of mankind to tell stories, and at the root of every human culture are the stories we call myths--stories of the creation of the world and of humankind, of the deeds of the gods and heroes, and of the end of time.
