In the beginning of the book, on pages 4 and 5, is a "word hunt". This gives all the new vocabulary words with their pronunciation and a small photo. This book has seven new vocabulary words children can learn; astronauts, Earth, float, NASA, Sally Ride, satellite, and space shuttle. The words are for children to hunt for while reading the book.
This book contains no art. It contains lots of real pictures to help describe what the words are saying. A very short book with large font that children can easily read.
By reading this book, readers can learn many new facts about Sally and why she is an important person. The book talks about how NASA picked Sally to be an astronaut. This made her the first American women to go into outer space. She saw the earth, from space, which only a few people have ever done and many people dream to do. ( )
