This is a wonderfully hilarious story about a family on the farm. One day the animals, who happen to talk, start to thinking that the family have it better living in the house; sp they decide to move into the house. Eventually all of the farm animals are in the house and it becomes overcrowded and chaotic. The family then has the brilliant idea to move to the now empty barn. Eventually both animals and family want things back to the way they were. The animals are lonely and the family has run out of things to do. So they swap living arrangements again but not before spending thanksgiving together in the house.

I laughed through this entire book. It is also a wonderful book to read out loud with all the animals talking. After reading it out loud i began to get carried away and even started adding my own animal noises. I also personally love Steven Kellogg artwork, he's fantastic!

Classroom extensions
- This would be a wonderful book to act out loud as a class, or to even assign specific animal parts to students and read together as a class.
- Visiting a small farm as a classroom trip would also be a wonderful experience to go along with this book.
