This book tells us all about the crazy phrases we say like bring home the bacon, and kick the bucket. It not only tells us the phrase but what it means and an example. ( )

Raining Cat and Dogs by Will Moses is a cute book featuring close to 50 popular idioms for kids to learn. It has funny illustrations and explains what each idiom means.

Mildly amusing picture book illustrating the author's suggestions of how certain idiomatic expressions came to being. It also includes fairly accurate definitions of each phrase as well. I liked the primitive art done by the great-grandson of an American icon, but felt that the actual known source of some phrases should have been used instead of fanciful options. Fine for kids. ( )

This is an interesting book of idioms. It is very true to form and simply gives examples of idioms throughout the book and situations in which it may be used. I had my 8 year old son read the book to me and he wanted to read it 2 more times. It is quite funny and some of the idioms will make you laugh.
I think it's a great way to explore/teach idioms without it being too formal. ( )
