Lovely short book with gorgeous illustrations and a wide variety of birds that use camouflage. Great for a quick read in Science, as a take-off book for rhyming nonfiction or illustrator study. if used as a read-aloud it needs to be in small group for easy picture visibility. Wish the pages were larger! ( ) This book is about how certain birds can hide or blend in with their surroundings. This story tells how birds like Whip-Poor-Wills, Parakeets, Owls, and other unique birds can use their habitat to camoflauge themselves from both prey and foes. This is another book that was handed down to me by my mother, and one that my boys have enjoyed tremendously. I particularly like this book as I have an interest in birds, all different sorts. They are fun to watch and some have very beautiful colors. As a classroom extension, I would have the students pick a book from the library similar to this one, one about birds, and have them write a short paragraph and draw a picture of what they have read. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
Rhyming text and pictures demonstrate the camouflage nature provides in the coloration of birds such as the plover, bittern, and potoo. No library descriptions found. |
