Thought provoking The incoherent ramblings of a pompous old man who things he knows better than everyone else and is too lazy to work. Walden is very much an internal exploration as well as an external one. Thoreau finds himself within Walden and muses about his position in the world, it is a meditation in trying to reach the eternal in spite of the very finite nature of life. Thoreau finds solace in recognising his place in nature as well as the universe. This take on the human condition becomes very uplifting and beautiful at its best parts. Anyone unsure about whether to read this book definitely should, with everything happening in the world right now, being transported to nature through this book is a welcome escape. 4 stars for Civil Disobedience...... 1 star for Walden ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
