This book showed the life process of a bean as a young boy plants one in soil, watches it grow, and enjoys new beans from the bean plant he grew. The boy had to be very careful as he planted the bean and he had to water the plant, make sure it got sunlight, and transfer the baby plant into a bigger pot so that the roots could grow more. This book could be used to show students the plant life cycle and at the end of the unit to show students what could result in a bean plant. As a teacher with lots of things to teach, our class probably wouldn't have time to see each student's bean plant produce more beans. Instead, we could start the process as a class and read this story to see how it could turn out. Then, students would take their plants home and take care of them like the boy in the story. I liked this book because it was very informative. Who knew such an awesome plant could grow from just one bean! ( ) This is a perfect simple story for the youngest readers to learn about the science of plants, sprouting a bean plan to be exact. The illustrations are colorful and fun, to grasp the attention of preschool aged children, yet realistic enough to demonstrate the process of growing a real plant. The text is simple enough for young learners to understand, while also being descriptive and informative. This would be a great story to use as an introduction to a bean plant growing lesson that many early childhood educators often teach. The book also mentions the popular tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, in which you could teach a compare and contrast lesson and/or use the two stories to discuss fiction and non-fiction literature. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
