The Aesop for Children, originally published by Checkerboard Press, Inc.( but with a new edition in collaboration with Barnes & Noble, Inc.) is a 112-page book that presents 146 of the most popular of Aesop’s fables with detailed illustrations by Milo Winter: a selection of the best and most well-known Aesop's fables that, compiled in this magnificent edition and with an attractive illustration, generates great teachings for children.

The fables that are in this book were created by the famous greek writer named Aesop, whose fables talk about different common situations for most of us, but they are lived by animals and objects, using the personification,
which consists of giving human emotions or attributes to nonhuman things. The majority of these fables are well-written with an easy vocabulary for understanding and also give a moral that people should know to avoid doing
actions that are clearly wrong and can bring them consequences that they may regret. For example, “The Lion and the Mouse” shows us that we should help each other regardless of appearance; or “The Fox and the Grapes” shows us that some people despise the things that they can’t have or own.

So, I totally recommend it for all the parents and schools that want to teach their children good values and morals to develop their creativity and bring them a peaceful coexistence in their daily lives.

The Aesop for Children is a book I purchased for my son when he was little as I remember reading this as a child. The illustration's and craftsmanship on this book is beautiful! ( )

I read the other version in high school but I probably didn't finish it, so here I am trying to get "closure" with this book. Most stories here were featured in my elementary stories and I thought they were originally shared from local--Filipino--storytellers. Some stories are still unheard of, so I recommend this to kids and young at heart.
P.S. I picked it at random for my 2021 PopSugar Reading Challenge. ( )
