The story takes place in Hyrule Stadium, where Link defeats a 40 foot tall monster and gets a huge reward of rubies and one cow. Shortly after, Link hears about the Oracle of Ages which has special powers and decides to go see it. After seeing the Oracle of Ages, Link's friend Ralph (a sorcerer) takes it from him and then accidentally teleports Link to the past. When Link arrives in the past, the people there believe assume he is a slave and order him to work but Link refuses. Trying to escape, a man named Raven takes Link as a prisoner but Link then escapes Raven's clutches which forces him to explain that he is on the good side. After regrouping with Raven, Ralph comes back in time to help Link in defeating the evil that followed him into the past as well as telling him that Raven is Link's ancestor. Together they created an all out attack on the evil, which is inside the princess of the past and succeed. Finally, Link and Ralph return to Hyrule of the present where they belong, until Link finds a new quest.
For this book, I chose a rating of 3 because it was very complicated. My first problem was understanding how to read the book, which was very confusing as the cover was on backwards. It took me a while to figure out which page the story began. Once that problem was resolved, I was able to enjoy this book and the adventures taken by Link. This book taught me about Link's childhood and his role as the hero of the "Tri-Force Hero of Time." Before this story, I did not know much about Link and the importance of his many quests. Although this book is anime, it is a great book to read for anyone who likes action and adventure. ( )
