The third installment in the Will Trent series has Will and Faith investigating a brutal crime. They are racing agaisnt the clock to find missing women. Sara tries to save the life of a victim she knows time is ruuning out.

Comepelling, intense, nonstop supsense. Indepth details pulls you in deep. (With) flawed characters who are dealing with personal issues and their past. I was engrossed from the start, aslo wating to learn more about their backstories.

Overall I found Undone quite enjoyable I higly recommend to Karin Slaughter fans and those who enjoy a great crime/thriller. I look forward to more in the Will Trent series ( )

Undone (2009) (Will Trent #3) by Karin Slaughter. This is the Will Trent book that introduces Sara Linton to his world. Faithful Karin Slaughter readers already know this woman from the ‘Grant County’ series, but there is a good amount of her background spelled out within these pages. This is also the start of a near 4,000 page romance story, so be prepared for the long haul.
Dr. Sara Linton is now in Atlanta working the emergency room for the cities busiest hospital. She is working through the ongoing grief from the loss of her husband several years before. She has sanitized her life, removing all things that might pull on her emotions. She works through case after case in the ER trying not to feel anything, and then the tall GBI investigator needs her help.
And so the romance begins, although neither person actually wants it too much.
A woman is found in a rural area east of Atlanta, tortured and near death. Although not technically on the case yet, Will Trent forces himself into the investigation and quickly finds not only a second victim, but and underground terror room where the women were held. There is an abundance of torture devices in the dugout area, but little trace evidence that point back to the person or persons behind the crimes.
Karin Slaughter manages to have her long tortured yet semi-triumphant investigator reveal more small pieces of himself, always in an usual but interesting way. Angie makes an appearance just to annoy everyone, reader as well as characters.
Betty and Sara’s boys get together and discover they like each other. Faith is both diabetic and pregnant and is having a tough time with each. And there is a very problematic family involved throughout.
Fast paced with daring action scenes, this romance might be headed for trouble but the ride looks like so much fun. ( )

Se non fosse per un'edizione piena zeppa di refusi e una traduzione veramente pessima potrebbe essere anche un discreto thriller.
Certo la Slaughter non ha una scrittura così elevata (non è certo la George o la Vargas...) ma la trama è abbastanza avvincente, anche se abbastanza presto si indovina il colpevole.
Will Trent non emerge molto come protagonista, stavolta surclassato dalla sua collega Faith, come già successo nei precedenti romanzi. ( )

Un matrimonio mayor regresa de noche a su casa cuando, por sorpresa, se le cruza en medio de la carretera una mujer desnuda y con señales de haber sido maltratada, a la cual no puede evitar atropellar. Mientras la ambulancia transporta a la víctima al hospital para intentar salvarle la vida, la policía peina los bosques circundantes con la intención de averiguar alguna pista sobre de dónde salió y si huía de algo o de alguien. El detective Will Trent, de la Oficina Estatal de Investigación de Georgia, realiza un macabro descubrimiento: un refugio subterráneo con instrumentos de tortura donde presuntamente estuvo retenida. Su sospecha de que ésta no era la única persona que permaneció secuestrada en tan escalofriantes circunstancias queda confirmada poco después, con la aparición del cadáver de una mujer colgando de un árbol. Teniendo que hacer malabarismos de cara a no interferir con los agentes de la ley locales y vigilados de cerca por una jefa implacable, Trent y su compañera, Faith Mitchell, comenzarán a investigar el caso con la ayuda de la doctora Sara Linton, que antaño fue patólogo forense.
