Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? My First Reader (original 1967; udgave 2010)

This is a classic book from my childhood where you embark on an adventure to see lots of different animals and things found in nature. Brown Bear is a great novel for interaction in our classroom. Brown Bear is bet suited for primary readers.

This book is a patterned language book that uses regular repetition of a phrase of what the animals in the book see. As each animal states what they see, they reveal a new character to the book. ( )

This book I read to my 2-year-old nephew who truly enjoyed it. I read it to him because this was one book that I always remembered reading growing up. It is a great picture book to help students associate colors with objects.

I chose this book because of the repetition. It is good for early readers to have the repetition to develop their readings and be able to make predictions. It is a story from my childhood that I enjoyed reading and look forward to sharing with students. In the classroom this book could be used for whole group instruction. The teacher reads aloud to the class and has the students make predictions, read as a group, or even appreciate the illustrations. ( )
