Although this book gives a lot of good information about airplanes and provides a lot of good vocabulary I feel like the structure is very broken and it leaves out a lot of good information in an attempt to cover every letter. I enjoyed that the book covered things such as air flow, pressure variations, and the terms associated with different parts of the plane such as fuselage and propeller. I feel like although they covered some highlights in the history of airplanes and flight through the pages about the wright brothers and Charles Lindbergh there is also a lot of missing information that is interesting like for instance Amelia Earnhart and the fact that she disappeared or the way plane style has changed over time. I taught a lesson on airplanes once a week to 5th grade classes in different schools this past year and as such can recognize that there are a lot of interesting facts that have been omitted in attempt to cover each letter. There are also entire pages that simply cover a specific plane without giving any information about airplanes as a whole. Like for instance the page about the spitfire, although it tells us it was used in world war 2 this style of plane was already covered earlier on in the book and it does not give us any additional information about planes. The main point of this book is to give students information on types of planes. ( ) ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
