One of the best book I read, and work with, on writing. Very clear, unsentimental, instructive and full with examples. Best of all: makes you think.

Stephen King's On Writing is still my favorite book of writing advice, but this one is a pretty close second. While King's focuses a lot on the creative process, this is more about the mechanics of writing - sentence structure, organization, etc. etc. I read it in high school and it's still an influence on my writing.
