The modern church has become a comfortable place, as congregations focus on creating warm and welcoming environments. But have casual attitudes replaced reverence for the Lord? The prophet Ezekiel was called to remind God's people about His holy and glorious nature, and that message remains as relevant today as when it was first delivered. This study examines Ezekiel's mission to describe the indescribable, a God beyond imagining, a King worthy of our reverence. Part of Dr. Warren W. Wiersbe's best-selling "BE" commentary series, BE Reverent has now been updated with study questions and a new introduction by Ken Baugh. A respected pastor and Bible teacher, Dr. Wiersbe calls us to rediscover the awesomeness of the Lord. Filled with inspiring words and images, Ezekiel's timeless message will draw you into a deeper level of holy reverence for our God.  … (mere)

Be Reverent is a study of Ezekiel. The prophet, Ezekiel, lived during the time of the Babylonian captivity. The Israelites had not been reverent, had worshipped idols, and had refused to turn back to God. They were warned and warned again, but they hardened their hearts. After many years of disobedience and idolatry, they were taken captive by the Babylonians and taken out of their homeland. Warren Wiersbe writes: “The messages of the prophet Ezekiel focus on the glory of God, the throne of God, and the honor of the name of God. God is called “Lord God” (“Sovereign Lord” NIV) over four hundred times in this book, and you find the solemn phrase “I am the Lord” fifty-nine times. In all that God says and does, He has one purpose in mind: “You will know that I am the LORD” (Ezek. 6:7 NIV)… Our generation needs the message of Ezekiel, for we are a people who lack the reverence we should have for the glory of God and the name of God.” Ezekiel also speaks of the promises of God for the future: a restored relationship with God, renewed worship in Jerusalem, and the joy of the Lord’s presence - “…and the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there.“ -Ezekiel‬ ‭48‬:‭35‬ ‭KJV ( )
