Not that I can climb mountains, but I love reading about those who can. This book was fascinating. I was astounded to find out that only 1 in 5 people survive climbing Mt. Everest. If that fact is true, that fact is amazing. I almost gave my copy of the book away after reading it but then I held back because I may re-read this book later on. It was really interesting. "Why do you want to climb Mt. Everest? Because it's there" said Mallory rather snarkily. :-) ( ) ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
On June 8, 1924, George Mallory and Andrew Irvine left their tent high up on the slopes of Mount Everest and climbed into history. They disappeared in a snowstorm and were never seen alive again. Here, the author begins to piece together the dramatic events of the tragedy. No library descriptions found. |
