I enjoyed reading this book because it was a co-ed soccer team that loves soccer together and plays by five important rules. It reminds me of when I used to play soccer with my classmates. I would incorporate this book into my classroom because it talks about friendships and working as a team. It also shows that every problem has a solution and that working together is important. This is also a series, so if my students like it, they can continue to read about these kids on their own. ( )

KEVIN THE STAR STRIKER is a fun, quick read for soccer fans everywhere. The characters are likable and easy to relate to. The plot is well-developed and has some serious themes in it, but the story is still funny and enjoyable. Those who like realistic fiction, friendship books, and sports stories will all want to pick up this first book in a new series. ( )
