Though an interesting enough sequel that pushed along Melissa Marr's clear endgame between the faery kingdoms, Fragile Eternity was significantly weaker than the previous two installments. That it is weaker is rather unfortunate because Seth and Sorcha are some of the more interesting characters involved within the deepening web of Marr's world. The relationship between Sorcha and Seth in particular felt rushed, particularly considering the depth and importance of where their relationship ended up. More perspective from Sorcha would have improved the book quite a bit, in my opinion. Seth's importance to the other courts has been well explained in previous books, but Sorcha's attachment to him felt more like it was because it was 'supposed' to happen to further the main plot rather than a more natural, explicable connection. In this third book of the series, Seth becomes unhappy with his mortal status now that his girlfriend is a fairy queen (and being heavily courted by her king), so he seeks a solution to the problem. There is lots of upset and trouble within the triangle. Yeah, I think I'm done with this series. There's too much love triangle angst and the same old fraught conversations are rehashed over and over and characters make frustratingly bad decisions.
Marr’s fantasy world is complex and involving. Belongs to SeriesWicked Lovely (3) Indeholdt iDistinctions
