The way its largely told in news segments, the constant shifting of perspectives, and the insanely good artwork all make for one of the best and most pleasantly chaotic comic book stories I've ever read. ( ![]() Not at all the cuddly superhero stories you've been told. Now, the world lies in the grip of nuclear warfare and Batman is an aged vigilante plagued by cynicism and doubt. Highly intriguing stuff. I don't particularly care for the art or the story. I find it both repetitive and cluttered. DNF at page 103. My sister and I grew up watching Adam West's Batman, and that interpretation of the superhero will always have a special place in my heart. Miller's version is much darker and so this review will be sure to respect the gravitas of the work in question and not make any inappropriately silly remarks more suited to the 1960s television version; that's right, this is going to be a…Wholly serious book review, Batman! No, but seriously, The Dark Knight Returns is amazing.
