The book has many farm animals being personified, and causing trouble for the young boy. This will allow the reader to identify proper actions of each animal. The book also used may rhyming words, such as “Flies in the sugar bowl, shoo fly shoo. Cats in the buttermilk, two by two.” For new readers, this book will be helpful in learning how rhyming words work, and enhance stories. This book also had illustrations that helped to show what is happening in the story, which will develop a sense of understanding for a reader. The big idea of this story is if everyone works together, more can be accomplished. There was a large mess in the house from all of the farm animals. When the boy said “What will we do? Hurry, quick it’s up to you!” All of the animals worked with the boy to tidy up the house before the parents arrived home. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

And what happens when the farm animals are dancing around the house and the farmer is about to return?
This charming retelling of the folk song “Skip to My Lou” is sure to be great fun for young readers. It’s delightfully silly and infectious . . . filled with chuckles for young readers and parents alike. The appealing illustrations in this picture book combined with the engaging rhyme make this a book destined to become a favorite.
Highly recommended. ( )
