Unlike the overly literal child in this book, I have no problem understanding figurative language. ( )

This is a fun and interactive book for young readers. There are many new words that would be reviewed with the children before beginning the book. There is rhyming words, figures of speech like "Broke your heart, "Give me a hand". This little boy doesn't understand what his friends and parents mean when they use figures of speech. This would be a good book to use with ELLs because they may feel the same way when you use figures of speech in your classroom. ( )

This book is about a boy who takes idioms about body parts seriously and becomes very concerned. This is a great book about teaching idioms and how they can sometimes be confusing. ( )

This book is about different things that a little boy doesn't understand. He takes thing people say very literally and is afraid of everything. This would be a good book to read to a class about idioms and phrases that people say that aren't literal. ( )
