Brilliant from start to finish. There was never a dull moment. It was enchanting, really, and artistically disturbing. Only Chuck Palahniuk can do that: disturb you while still keeping you interested. I liked this slightly more than I liked 'Fight Club', and both deserve the 5-star rating. I haven't read a Palahniuk book since way back. Either Palahniuk's style is no longer for me or Survivor isn't one of his best - hard to say. I'm all for satire but I just wasn't feeling this. Too many areas felt like a Fight Club copy, too much rambling commentary on how to clean messes, too much plot convenience. Maybe I'll give another Palahniuk a shot, or maybe I'll leave it in the past as a pleasant memory. Time will tell. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

Tender Branson, last surviving member of the so-called Creedish Death Cult, is dictating his life story into the flight recorder of Flight 2039, cruising on autopilot at 39,000 feet somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. He is all alone in the airplane, which will crash shortly into the vast Australian outback. But before it does, he will unfold the tale of his journey from an obedient Creedish child and humble domestic servant to an ultra-buffed, steroid-and collagen-packed media messiah. I have never been so depressed while reading a book in my life. It was all the more noticeable because I immediately read one of the "Ender's Shadow" books and I was astonished to find myself feeling happy. It was REALLY creepy.
If you feel really depressed or even if you're a little blue, DO NOT READ THIS! Wait until you're a little up, I suppose, for a cushion. (
