Gerald, a young boy, and his family including his sister, Anita, live in Fairbanks. One day Gerald discovers a wounded moose near his home. He secretly brings the moose willows so it won’t starve as it recuperates. When the moose is well, Gerald gets a wonderful surprise. Told in the third person narrator view, the style is straightforward. Beautiful, realistic pencil drawings accompany the thoughtful text. Theme is kindness.
