It makes no pretence to definitivity. Clemenceau was born in the Vendee in a village called Mouilleron-en-Pareds on 28 Sep 1841 . He studied medicine and became a doctor, but did not practice much. He was mayor of Montmartre in Paris in 1870-71, municipal councilor 1871-1876, in the Chamber of Deputies from 1876 to 1893--kind of a gadfly and wrecker of ministries; 1893 to 1902 he was a newspaper columnist; back in office as a Senator 1903-1906; minister and Premier 1906; in opposition 1909-1914; in late 1917 he became Premier and continued as such till 1919; he was denied the Presidency in 1920; and died in 1929. This book was written too soon after his death to have judiciousness, but I found it worth reading. ( ) ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
