They can't cross the bridge though because a troll named Sid likes to eat goats. Each goats tries to cross the bridge and says wait until my brother gets here, each time it is a bigger goat than the last time. The biggest brother goat kicks the troll and makes him sick, the troll moves away and the three goats cross the bridge and live happily ever after. Personal Reaction:I think this book is a really good traditional book, I remember always reading it as a kid and I hope to continue reading it to other students. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1. Draws three of the brother goats and describe them in color, size and their name. 2. Make a mask out of what the troll Sid looks like. Summary: Three Billy Goats Gruff are spending the day eating grass. But the grass on the other side of the bridge is much greener. One thing stands in their way, The Troll. When the Little Billy Goat Gruff gets the courage to face the troll they all decide to go. Two of them telling the troll to wait for their brother he's bigger. When it gets to the big Billy Goat Gruff he is strong enough to defeat the troll. Personal Reaction: We all have something in our lives that we want to make better. We have to find the courage to face the problem or situation head on. Sometimes we may need help from our family along the way. Classroom Extension: 1. You could give kids coloring pages of the characters faces to color and cut out. Then put Popsicle sticks on them and have a reenactment of the story. 2. You could discuss the setting of the story. Let the students recreate the setting in the story by making a bridge and water and green grass. You could have little cut-out characters for them to place in their settings to retail the story. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
