Robert Gober's inventive installations have re-defined the possibilities of both art in general and sculpture in particular. This book is the first to consider the links between Gober's three-dimensional work and his lesser-known drawings, and reveals the extent to which drawing has served a crucial, generative role in his aesthetic process. The more than 100 drawings included in Robert Gober: Sculpture and Drawing, dating from the 1970s to the present, are shown within the context of Gober's sculpture. Among other features of the book are a took at such works as the little-known projection installation "Slides of a Changing Painting, " and explorations of the artist's methods and media.
