A very interesting piece and one of the author's early works. A collection of short stories or editorials grouped into three sections. The first section is about the author's observations on his visits to India during the early seventies. A very unvarnished and unflattering look at life in India in general, he certainly does not mince his words.

In the second section, the author heads west here he writes about some strange happenings in Japan, a nice piece about the Monterey peninsula and the canning industry, a short sojourn in New York and one in Europe.

The third section is all about the west indies and mauritius about the lives and travails of the populace in these idyllic isles.
