I realize that this book is not nearly as famous as Stalking the Wild Asparagus, but that does not mean that it should be discounted! The prose is engaging and easy to read and although his opinions shine through on many occaissions, that is what helps to separate this book from many of the other guides to foraging which are available. Ultimately it is the meaning and intention behind the foraging which Gibbons highlights, rather than simply the herbs themselves and their identification.
