The definitive reference for scholars, collectors, curators, art dealers, libraries, and anyone who appreciates the art of Charles M. Russell Charles M. Russell is our most beloved artist of the American West. His paintings, sketches, sculpture, illustrated letters, and stories are an unequalled legacy. Lavishly illustrated with more than 200 color and black-and-white reproductions of Russell's greatest works, this beautiful volume features essays by Russell experts and scholars who address important aspects of the artist's life and career. Inside the book is a unique key code that allows purchasers to access a private online catalogue (www.russellraisonne.com) of more than 4,000 works Russell created and signed during his lifetime. Original owners of the book will have unlimited access to the site once a user name and password have been created. The online catalogue, which includes an enlargeable image of each work, is fully searchable. In addition, each entry includes the catalogue number, title, medium, dimensions, and, when available, the inscription, credit line, illustration, provenance, exhibition history, and bibliography. The catalogue will be updated on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available or additional works are found. The result of more than a decade of research and scholarship, Charles M. Russell: A Catalogue Raisonné is published in cooperation with the Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West at the University of Oklahoma and with the C. M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana.  … (mere)

Eckhart has some rather nasty comments on the book and in particular the database for the number of works missing and the quality of the photos on a number of them. I lost my ID and PW but got them back thanks to an executive at the University of Oklahoma.
