This is a fictional book with animal characters in dialogue. The bear talks to the birds, squirles, mice and bees. He is uses sounds over and over again to scare them so that he can get his rest.

This big book uses the illustrations as much as the words. The illustrations show a lot of detail such as the bears cave and indicate the fall season which hint to the bear wanting to go into hibernation. The scene stays the same throughout the story which keeps consistency.

This is an example of a fantasy because the bear, the birds, the mice, and the bees were able to talk.
The plot is pretty dull. There is no climax or resolution. This would work for a wuick story with preschool students but would not be effective for a lesson or an example of quality children's literature.
