Kids will enjoy and love the repetition in this book as it helps them practice predicting what comes next in a story. They will also fall in love with Little Bear and cherish the feeling of being safe and sound in Big Bear's arms. ( )

Age Appropriateness: Primary
Genre: Fantasy
Media: Watercolor
Setting: The place that this story takes place in is not known specifically. The reader basically only knows that it is outdoors during winter season. This story does not have a specific time either. It could take place at any time in history and not really be affected.
Review: This is the story of a bear cub and his father taking a walk in the snow. The bear cub keeps hearing noises and sounds that are scaring him, but his father makes him feel safe once again. He explains what each sound they hear is and where it is coming from. The bears in this story talk to each other a lot, so this is one way that they are taking on human characteristics, which makes this book a good example of fantasy. ( )
