First of all, the book is self published and illustrated by the sixth-grade class who tells its story. The plot is insightful, and all about farm that used to be on the land that their school is located on, and why the school is there now. The language is academic and descriptive, while still being inspirational. The main idea that this story presents to readers is that it's important to reflect on the past and pay homage to the reasons that things are the way they are now. This book was written by sixth grade students about their school. Ronald Herbein grew up on a farm that was later sold and turned into their school. This book won the Kids Are Authors Award. This would be read to middle school students to encourage them to write. If they see that other sixth grade students wrote a book it could give them confidence to write their own. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
Part of a series where children write and illustrate their own books, this volume describes a school built at the site of the Herbein farm, and how the students contrast the land's previous use with their current school activities. No library descriptions found. |
