Der er ingen diskussionstråde på Snak om denne bog. this is the third of Glubb's books about the history of the Medieval Middle East. In this particular volume he covers the revival of the Abbasid Caliphate until the Crusaders' arrival in the area. The chronology covers roughly 900 until 1145. The Caliphate has a revival in the early 900's recovering Egypt from the Tulunids, and then disappeared as a political force being submerged by the Persian dynasty of the Buhwayid Family, and then by the eruption of the Seljuk Turks. Gen. Glubb is short on analysis, and relies mostly upon Caliph biographies and the records of military conflicts. None the less, the series is a good starting place for the english-speaking enthusiast. ( ) ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
