In 2008, Adobe Photoshop pro and best-selling author Matt Kloskowski broke new ground teaching Photoshop by focusing on the one thing that makes Photoshop the amazing (and sometimes difficult to understand) program it is: layers. Now, Matt returns with a major update to the book that explains "the key to understanding Photoshop"  in the same concise, easy to understand way that's made him so well known in the field of Photoshop training. When asked about the original version of this book, Matt said, "I wanted it to be the Photoshop book that I wish was around when I was first learning." This update improves upon that concept. Within these pages, you'll learn about: Working with and managing multiple layers Building multiple-layer images Blending layers together Layer masking and just how easy it is Which of the 25+ layer blend modes you really need to know (there are just a few) Using layers to enhance and retouch your photos All of the tips and tricks that make using layers a breeze Plus, a new chapter on advanced layer techniques and compositing to help take your work to the next level If you want to fully understand layers in Photoshop, this book is the one you've been waiting for.… (mere)

Matt has done it again. His sense of humor clearly comes through in the book while he is teaching the basics of what many find difficult to master on their own. Layers and how to use them is the basis of getting the most out of Photoshop. This book, and the photos that are available to download and use to follow along, makes layers come alive. The lessons are easy to follow and move from very basic to advanced at a pace that anyone who is even faintly familiar with Photoshop should be able to follow. ( )

Matt Kloskowski is a great teacher. His instructions in this book make difficult project suddenly become easy (or at least achievable) by anyone with a modicum of ability with Photoshop. Layers is one of the basic concepts in Photoshop, but it can be difficult to master. This book makes it easy, and you can download the images used in the book to follow along with the lessons. If you use Photoshop, you need this book. ( )

As an ICT Teacher, I have acquired many computer books and this has to be the best.
All instructions are easy to follow and it makes using Photoshop so simple that you wish this book was around from the beginning. ( )
