When Susan hears the whispers of her parents, and senses the tension in the house, she fears that they are going to get a divorce. Never in her wildest dreams does she think they are going to tell her that she was switched at birth and her biological parents want her back. Unlike some great novels, I don't feel that this book stood the test of time, being older I didn't find that I enjoyed it that much. To me, it seemed much to simple of a read and the vocabulary was very easy. This wasn't one of my favorites, but I think it would be good for someone younger. An old favorite of mine, I did my first huge book report on this book. I have re-read this book more times then I can count, and it never gets old. Each time is like the first time, and I still feel just as bad for Susan as I did the first time. I'm not sure why I connected so strongly with this book back then, but it's one of those that will stay with me forever. Susan was switched at birth and now her parents want her back. Her parents are told that their daughter died and they have to share her. Susan gets upset that her parents wont fight to keep her and give in to what they want. She dislikes the fact that she looks like her real father. She tries very hard to make them dislike her. She learns that family ties cant be ignored.
