Snow White's mother died soon after the girl was born. The King, her father, has married again, but although the new Queen is very beautiful, her heart is cold. Every day, she consults a magic mirror, which reassures her that she is the fairest one of all. But Snow White is growing up, and one day the mirror informs the Queen that Snow White is fairer still. The Queen is furious, and orders a woodcutter to take Snow White into the forest and kill her. The good man is frightened of the Queen, but he cannot bring himself to kill the girl. Instead, he leaves her in the forest, all alone. As it grows dark, Snow White has never felt so afraid. Moonlight shines through the trees. From among the leaves, bright little eyes peep out at her. At last, in a clearing ahead, she sees a little cottage gleaming in the moonlight. What will she find in there...' Sparkling details on every page of this magical boardbook bring this popular story to life. Mirror, mirror, on the wall, which is the sparkliest book of all? Why, this one, of course!… (mere)
