Loved it! A nice book that I liked. At least the detective part of it. Interesting, thrilling, well done, making things from the past blend in with the action taking place now. Usually I dislike jumping back & forth like this, but in this book it was functional and not at all confusing. Whether I like the more personal side (the Sara & Jeffrey-part) I'm not so sure. In a way it adds to the story, but I keep wondering what would happen if that part fell out. Indelible offers a look at the lives of Jeffrey Tolliver and Sara Linton in two different time periods while interweaving the details to bring the past and present together. At first the two threads seemed to be unrelated but Slaughter soon began to work the magic of writing to meld them into a solidly built detective story with a reasonable conclusion. Even though I haven't read any of the other books in the series I felt comfortable with the characters of Jeffrey and Sara since the plot delved into the background of their lives and the history of their relationship. Indelible is book 4 in the author's Grant County series. It gives the reader background info about the two main characters. I don't usually like books that skip back and forth but the author did such a good job of going from present to past through out the book that I didn't mind.
I can't believe that there are only 2 books left in the series. I'm going to miss Sara and Jeffery. (
