All of the most famous nursery rhymes in the essential collection. Remember: It does not have to be a Mother Goose to be a Nursery Rhyme, but it has to be a Nursery Rhyme to be a Mother Goose. ( )

1. Humpty Dumpty- This nursery rhyme is a classic known by many. It is about fragility, and how easy it is for things to fall apart, but not as easy to put back together.

2. Little Bo Peep- Another well known nursery rhyme. Little Bo Peep can portray the message of recieving advice from someone more expiernced.

3.Mary had a Little Lamb- I learned when I was in school that this was based off of an actual incident. It teaches love an care. The lamb loves mary, as mary loves the lamb- this is why it follows her wherever she goes.

4.Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star- Beauty is the theme of these poem. It also can be said that it is a little bit of a mystery becasue we "wonder how you are." Cute nursery rhyme that every child knows for the rest of thier lives.

5. Pat- A -Cake- Cute nursery rhyme that is about a mother and toddler making a cake together. (that is the literal meaning)

6. Old McDonald- This is another one of the classics that everyone knows. It is a cute way to teach young children the sounds that animals make.

Summary:
This is a wonderful book full of classic nursery rhymes. I thoroughly enjoy reading every single one. The illustration in this particular version is awesome.

Personal Reaction:
I remember being read these nursery rhymes at a very early age. I remember memorizing the words as my dad would read them and pretending that I was actually reading at 2 and 3 years old to him.

Classroom Extensions:
1. The nursery rhymes could be read and the children could draw a picture of what they think that particular one is talking about.
2. This book could be read to introduce poetry to younger children. ( )

Favorite Nursery Rhymes is a large collection of traditional children's nursery rhymes. It includes all of the favorite rhymes such as Jack be Nimble, Mary had a Little Lamb, and Itsy Bittsy Spider.

Who doesn't love nursery Rhymes? Most of us grew up on these stories and hearing them anywhere just takes us back.

After reading a few poems the students will pick their favorite one and tell why it is their favorite and try to remember where they were the first time they heard it.
