Reviews of all her books, essays on Georgette herself, excerpts from biographies and review of plays and movie. ( )

This turned out to be not quite what I was expecting. It contains (broadly speaking):

- some early short stories and magazine pieces, along the lines of those new ones recently published in "Snowdrift and Other Stories". These were fun to read.

- (many, many) articles about and reviews of her novels, presented without comment and in the order they (and not the novels) were completed. These were of very varying quality and accuracy. The most interesting ones revealed the plots of early novels which Heyer went on to suppress.

- more general essays and articles about Heyer's writing generally. These were probably more worth reading, but I had had enough by this stage. Maybe I will return to them another time. ( )

Not really a critical retrospective -- instead, it is a miscellaneous compendium of reviews, short Heyer pieces, and articles, some about Heyer and some citing her as a reference in relation to some other topic. Much of the material is superficial and/or very dated. Still, as a certified Heyer addict, I found this irresistible. I expect others suffering the addiction will as well. ( )

Pretty much an exhaustive set of all reviews, literary criticism, and synopsis of Heyer's oeuvre. Many of the reviewers clearly had not read the books in question, since they missed so much...but overall an interesting book to have for my next foray into Heyer! Fahnestock-Thomas wrote her dissertation on "Jane Austen in German-speaking Europe." ( )
