I can't wait to read more about these people in Grace Valley. ( ) Since I’m eagerly anticipating the season 3 ofVirgin River premiering next weekend, I thought it would be fun to dive in to one of the author’s earlier series. Given that the leads in this book, June and John, interact with Mel in the Virgin River series of books I thought I would be in to it. Alas, I wasn’t. The characters and plot just didn’t grab me like our friends in Virgin River did. This one was rather sleepy. I found myself skimming a good part of it just to get to the end of the book. I won’t be continuing to read this series, but I’ll be continuing my Netflix countdown to season 3 of Virgin River. Book One in the Grace Valley trilogy takes place in northern California, in the fictitious town of Grace Valley, filled with an assortment of likable characters where community and friendship are highly valued. Think 'An Irish Country Doctor' and 'All Creatures Great and Small' but not as sedate. June Hudson has a full professional life and many friends, but at age 37 is wishing for a relationship, but in this small town there are no available prospects. She is also overworked and is taking applications seeking a second doctor for her clinic. But the ideal candidate she's giving a try seems to have a shady past. Then the DEA and other law enforcement agencies are zeroing-in on the illegal marijuana growers and an interesting man with a secret has been quietly appearing at June's house. For the most part a light, easy, enjoyable read though topics covered include sexual harassment, spouse abuse, the need for rural medicine for the poor, and the issues of illegal marijuana growers. You'll grow attached to the regular characters and enjoy the quiet romance. These characters will also cross-over into Carr's other series, The Virgin River series. deep in the valley the grace valley trilogy by robyn carr lady doc returns to town and learns things she must keep to herself. she gets another doc to help in the practice and is unsure of if what he's told her is true. it's fun to follow the families in the valley, there are not many and it's easy to keep them straight. there are magical things that occur with no explanation as to how they happen. i know there is another book at least, in this series so i hope it will continue with all the people in this one. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

HTML: Welcome to Grace Valley, California--where blood runs thicker...ties are stronger...and love is all the more sweet Visitors to the town often remark about the valley's peace and beauty--both of which are plentiful. Unlocked doors, front porches, pies cooling in the windows--this is country life at its finest. But visitors don't always see what lies at the heart of a community. Or just beyond... June Hudson grew up in Grace Valley, the daughter of the town doctor. Leaving only to get her medical training, she returned home and followed in her father's footsteps. Some might say she chose the easy, comfortable route...but June knows better. For June, her emergency room is wherever she's needed--or wherever a patient finds her. She is always on call, her work is her life and these people are her extended family. Which is a good thing, since this is a town where you should have picked your husband in the ninth grade. Grace Valley is not exactly the place to meet eligible men--until an undercover DEA agent suddenly starts appearing at all sorts of strange hours. Everybody has secrets down in the valley. Now June has one of her own. .No library descriptions found. |
