Fun illustrations, like all of Boynton's books. While not as delightful as some other Boynton books, this is in the top third of alphabet books, by my ranking: each animal is drawn doing some alliterative action and with the appropriate first letter -- "hippo hiding". Very simple, gets the point across, and some humor. ( )

This book is short and sweet, it offers a variety of new words to associate with each letter of the alphabet.

Sandra Boynton writes entertaining children's books that can be used for many purposes. A to Z is no exception. For every letter there is an animal that starts with that letter, and then an action that starts with that letter. The illustrations show the animals performing their action.

Summary: Simple A to Z book that has a picture for each letter of the alphabet.

Review: This book is a simple enjoyable book that has fun pictures of animals doing something that goes with each letter. For example P is penguins painting. A great book to stretch the visual of a letter into application of it in words.
