Alternately annoying and pretty darn nifty. ( ![]() It’s been more years than I care to remember since I’ve read a Jim Butcher book. Glad to have had a challenge that allowed me to remedy that. I always loved this series. It takes the best of urban fantasy… mixes it with some good old-fashioned noir mystery… tosses in a little romance and a lot of action…shake… stir and serve. It had everything that makes for a good story…mystery, crime, thrilling episodes…. horror… detectives… and paranormal. Jim Butcher blends them with humor…t even if it was a bit dry at times. I always enjoyed trying to second guess where Mr. Butcher would take us next. Butcher, Jim. Fool Moon. Dresden Files No. 2. Roc, 2001. In this second adventure of Chicago’s only wizard who advertises his services, Harry takes a client who is a werewolf. He matches wits and paranormal abilities with a pack of werewolves and werewolf wannabes. He discovers that not all werewolves are created equal, and not of them have the same agenda. Some are even sexy. But they are all dangerous on a moonlit night. Urban gothic fun. First re-read since my first read about 13 years ago. Re-reading in an effort to beat reader's block and Harry is helping. What a dread. Didn't really like that one very much.
When the corpse of a brutally mutilated murder victim turns up at the time of the full moon, accompanied by some most unusual paw prints, professional wizard and supernatural investigator Harry Dresden finds himself searching Chicago for the werewolf stalking the city.
