It was okay, but I have read much better. I'm surprised after learning about screenplays like The Big Sleep, Rio Bravo, and first draft of The Empire Strikes Back. ( ) This second adventure of Eric John Stark sees him on Venus - depicted according to mid-20C convention as a wet but basically earthlike world - on the search for an old friend, who disappeared in the pirate town Shuruun. Soon he finds out things rather worse than piracy are going on there. The story is conventional enough planetary romance as far as conception and plot goes, but it's competently told. Much of the story is set in the "Red Sea", a Venusian "sea" consting of a red-shining, breathable gas: the under"water" world is vividly portrayed. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
