This is a really good look at the lives of some of the men in the Bible. Richard Rohr is insightful in his exploration and his writing is very readable. He looks at each character using paintings done by Louis Glanzman that add depth to his understandings as offers insights into the painter's vision of the characters as well. The paintings add a beautiful dimension to Rohr's scriptural and historical analysis of each figure and his thoughts on their relevance to men of faith as we seek to live out our faith in light of the cloud of witnesses who went before us as presented here. The art is very good and Rohr's thoughts and insights are timely. ( )
