This is my third attempt at reading this book: this time, with more concentration and a receptive mind, as I now have a considerable experience with Photoshop Elements and Nikon Scan (and related) software which I used to set up my flickr photo-albums. This time I am able to understand and absorb a lot more, and hope to finally crack the whole Photoshop 'phobia'. So far it promises to be a great book, ideally designed for the aspiring nature photographer wishing for a greater understanding and control of the software and the processes. A question I hope this will help answer is: does CS3 (or the even older CS2 I have access to and hope to learn) have any relevance in 2022? Can I make do with the Elements 2 I got with an Epson printer, or should I purchase an up-to-date version? Time, and experimenting with the packages, will hopefully answer. Luckily the book comes with a CD and resources for practice runs. A good high-value book.
Post-up: 'Finished' my read-through finally! Still a great book, although some of the paragraphs went a little over my head. I think I may understand 'Layers' a bit better now. Of course, one never really 'finishes' such a book, and I will look forward to trying out stuff (there is even a CD with samples attached). ( )
