The Death of Christ is thus to explain the place held by the death of Christ in the scriptures, and the interpretation put upon it by the apostolic writers. He argues that the doctrine of the death of Christ and its significance is the gospel of St. Paul, and that the death of Christ is a demonstration of God’s love which can never be surpassed.
