Childhood favorite I'm using to teach myself French ( ![]() I listened to a video where the author of this book said that he wrote this as a song for his baby who passed away before they were born. Of course, this hit me where it hurt it my loss mama heart. A classic book that everyone should read, although now it makes me cry lol! This story is about a boy as he grows up. Every night, his mother sings to him, and eventually, he ends up doing the same for his mother. Love You Forever is one of my favorite children's books. I chose this book for an illustration example to add some variety. Many children's books look cartoonish, but Love you Forever has more of a realistic image. It is a beautiful piece both illustration wise, and text. realistic fiction- Love You Forever shows a number of serious subjects including love, gender roles, and the circle of life and death. A mother's love for her son continues as he goes through the stages of life. Every night his mother sings her song to him while rocking him. He returns the favor has she grows old in age. This is a book my mom used to read to me as a child. I think a mother's love is so important. I know some kids don't have mommy's and this book may be hard for them, so this would be a tough one to do a read aloud in my classroom.
A young woman holds her newborn son And looks at him lovingly. Softly she sings to him: "I'll love you forever I'll like you for always As long as I'm living My baby you'll be."
