This book teaches children not to bite. After a student realizes that biting hurts her friends, she never does it again. ( )

A little girl likes to terrorize her classmates by growling and biting them. But she goes to far with a classmates monkey and rips his arm off. The boy screams and little girl decides she doesn't want to terrorize her classmates anymore. ( )

This is a book where a girl chooses to be a crocodile and scare everyone. At the end she feels bad, and realizes its not nice to be mean. This is a book for teaching a lesson ( )

Flora is constantly dressed up as a crocodile and tries to bite her classmates at school, despite their loud protests otherwise. Things go too far when Flora bites the arm off of a beloved toy monkey.

This book is billed as tackling the biting issue "with great care and understanding." I don't see that all here. For starters, referring to a child who bites as "horrible" does not seem sensitive at all. There is no explanation given for Flora's biting problem; it seems to be an issue of getting overly involved in her alligator pretend play rather than the more common problems of negative attention seeking, lack of verbal skills, etc. Flora ends up being shamed out of biting rather than being given a toolkit of ways to help her curb a tendency to bite. All in all, I don't see this as a helpful addition to any classroom where biting is an issue. ( )

Great book to read when teaching a lesson on biting. Has great pictures and keeps hold of the readers attention.
