This book is a good reading for to young children that everyone should sleep at some point. The reading is illustrated with picture as an example, for the children to see. The children can see that their pets another animals sleep also. Children may understand why they need to take a nap and go to sleep when it is bed time. “Sleep is for Everyone” is an informational text that tackles the questions, “Why do we get sleepy?” and “Why is sleep important?” Paul Showers first establishes that although living things sleep in different ways (elephants standing while sleeping, snake sleeping with open eyes) we all need sleep. The illustrations in this book are suitable for younger audiences such as Pre-K to 1st or 2nd grade. I like how Paul Showers connects sleep to science by discussing how sleep affects our brain, which in turn affects our heart and lungs as well. This book would be suitable for a unit about the body and a healthy lifestyle. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
