I liked this book for three main reasons. First, I liked how the book was based off poems about the Christmas holiday. For example, the poems talked about Santa, his reindeers, Rudolf, candy canes, and many others relatable ideas that comes around the Christmas season. Second, I liked how the illustrations were extremely colorful and the characters looked like cartoons. Third, I liked how the poems had humor in them, instead about just talking about the serious side of Christmas. For example, the poem “Santa Got Stuck in the Chimney” was extremely humorous by Santa Claus getting stuck in a child’s chimney and they had to call the police. The big idea of this book was a variety of funny poems about Christmas. ( )

I was at work when I read this book and was reading them poems to my co-worker. We laughed through each and every poem because they were all so funny. Each poem has something to do with Christmas, whether it was Santa Claus, food, reindeer, etc. The illustrations make the poems seem more realistic because if something goes wrong, it is showing it, but in a funny way. We loved reading this book and I even told her I want to find this for my future classroom.

The message of these poems are to be happy and laughing about Christmas spirit. ( )

Great collection of poetry that bring cheer to the holiday season. There are poems about finding parking to shop on the day after Thanksgiving and about Santa getting stuck in the chimney. This book has colorful, cheerful artwork that initiate happiness and anticipation for Christmas.
